As Null Point inevitably becomes more known, due to being flung at patrons at Zine fairs and generally being left in gutters, coffee shops and picked up by those who review things the question will always come of how is Null Point anonymous when it’s obvious who outputs it?
Which brings us onto Graham.
Graham is the curator and creator of Null point.
Creator – What we mean by creator is that he is the initial concept maker and person who came up labelled and began with issue one. Not the creator of all content within an issue.
Since initial inception Null Point has grown so now every issue is an amalgam of submissions from the public with multiple creators and artists. Meaning we are able to give differing opinions, art, styles and creatives a chance for public expression.
Curator – What Graham is responsible for is the curation of Null point.
Whilst some work in an issue may be created by Graham his main role with Null Point is to act as curator and create expressive issues which push people to consider the theme from as many angles as submissions allow.
He takes all submissions we get seriously and works them into an edition to not only show of the creativity and versatility of expression and opinion but arranges them to generate discussion regarding whatever the theme is that month.
The long and short of this is:
Yes. We know Graham outputs Null Point, (that’s almost impossible to hide online) however the opinions within an issue are not necessarily his as the submissions are truly made anonymously by the public, as the manifesto states:
Everything within an issue says something, something about its creator, their situation and their thoughts and feelings on their world at hand.
Null Point was created as a vehicle for expression not to put forward any single agenda and whilst that is hard to do will continue to try to provide a diverse range of expression and opinion as was the original goal.
You may love it, you may hate it but in the end it’s just a Null Point.
